  1. I wonder, is this really a predecessor to the store closing and everyone going their separate ways/working for Marla?

I’d like to see that happen.

    • As am I…did they start making shoes with Mercury?

-Also, hi Dave! Nice to see that we share some of the same tastes in comics. I think this is the second or third time I’ve recognized you commenting on other comments.

    • Side effects may include tired and aching feet if you stand too long. Using these shoes also can lead to smelly feet, so it’s not advisable to take off your socks after wearing them.

  2. I only clean my Lether shoes in the dishwasher. It gives them a wonderful finishing shine and no streaks.

  3. Gotta get me some of dem genuine imitation shoes!!!! Can’t wait for the side effects neither. They’ll go well with the new polos.
Tarna, I already speculated on the store closing earlier in the week.
This is a character we don’t see very often.

  4. Kinda surprised the guy who works in the shoe department can’t tell the difference between leather and fake rubbery cr- stuff.

    • It could be a type he hasn’t seen before. Perhaps the material feels more like real leather, and the horrific side effects are caused by the chemicals that make it that way. Honestly, I wouldn’t put it past these anything-for-a-dollar corporations. 🙁

      • I think he recognized the weird material, but opened the conversation with the obvious missplelling of Lether, hoping to get some clarification.
But as H.P. Lovecraft taught us, when he scratched the thin veneer that we put upon this world, the maddening horror of reality awaited him.

  5. Did anyone else think of that Consumerist article about lady who bought sandals from Wal-mart and they burned her feet? I was baffled by it at the time but now I think they must of cleaned the shoes with some chemical they shouldn’t have and that’s what burned her skin.
