  1. Marla’s style of management doesn’t seem so bad anymore, does it Bruce? You have only yourself to blame now.

  2. Now just wait until Crystal turns out to be a stellar AM, and the look on Brice’s face when he lost out on a promotion

  3. Well, Brice, you got there by refusing to see that Marla isn’t a bad manager. You insisted that nothing could change your mind. And as a result, you decided to not just burn your bridges, but to hit them with the Death Star.

End result, you’re stuck with Mina until you decide to leave Delman’s, and even then, good luck because you can’t use either place as a reference. Mina would tell the guy on the other end of the phone that you’re un-rehireable because you stole from the company, and Marla/Stuart would claim that you lacked loyalty.

Now, maybe things will go just south enough at Grumbel’s that you’ll get accepted back, but everyone’s going to treat you like a traitor on top of the fact that you ruined your chances with the crew in the first day of being there.

After all, the grass always seems greener on the other side of the fence.

      • By rehiring him as a sales clerk 🙂

Making him see it from the bottom rung would probably do him some good 🙂

        • It’s too bad Cooper doesn’t need anyone else in the stock room. It would be hilarious to see Cooper ordering the new boy, Brice around. And him getting those lovely calls every time there’s a “situation” in one of the restrooms.

    • I doubt Marla would take Brice back. Once burned, twice shy. She might take him as seasonal help if she got really desperate, but he has a bad attitude of his own, and I don’t think this disaster at Delman’s is going to fix it.

But yeah, he’d better not use Mina as a reference.

  4. Oh, Brice…you got what you wanted. A hostile work environment where there is no loyalty or sympathy for the employees.

You went for the greener grass, and you let Mina hold your nose until you got stuck in all the fertilizer.

  5. Surest sign of poor management: making new rules to cover up the blunders of management.

When the rule book weighs as much as the cylinder block of a Buick, it’s time to start looking for the exit.

  6. And the penny drops.

Kinda feel bad for him. But some people are the learn from experience type. Works well till you go hanggliding

    • Some people learn by reading.
      Some learn by observation.
And some have to pee on the electric fence a couple of times before they learn.

  7. How did you get there? Shall we review the past few weeks Brice? We could but at every step we’d find that you made some first class blunders. And where you are now is entirely your own doing. You will have to reap the consequences of the choices you’ve made.

  8. As soon as he said “How did I get here” all I could think of is Talking Heads.
“And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
    And you may ask yourself
    Well…How did I get here”

  9. *Comes by with 5 comically-overized bags of popcorn*

Had to resupply. Take what you need, friends. This is just getting good.

  10. I feel like at this point, Brice’s smartest move is to just keep his mouth shut, tell Mina what she wants to hear, and suck it up if the other employees call him a brown-noser or similar things. He’s gonna have to play the Crazy’s game to survive.

  11. Grumbel’s pay must be below par if Mina says I can’t believe they pay so little. Tightwad retail corporate don’t give a flying f— about employees…look around, Walmart, anyone??

  12. Brice once said to himself he was sure he didn’t want a future with the higher ups of Gumbels. I knew then his problems were with retail in general. I think after this he’s either getting out of retail entirely or somehow miraculously unseating Mina, and better then him have tried.
